Privacy Policy

What we collect

• • Photos and messages you upload to create a Pi9eon.
• • Your name and phone number (used to sign in and to keep track of your postcards) — and your own mailing address if you add one to receive postcards, including copies of cards you send.
• • Recipient information (name and mailing address — and phone if they create their own account).
• • An optional birthday, if you choose to add one to your profile.
• • Payment details (processed securely by Stripe — we never store full card numbers).
• • Basic device and usage info (for app performance and fraud prevention), including your browser type and an approximate, city-level location derived from your IP address.
• • Optional photo location and date. If you turn on the “share location/time” caption, we read the location and date embedded in your photo (or, with your permission, your device's location) and convert it to a city name — for example, “Taken in Boston, MA” — to print on your postcard. This is off by default.

Cookies & analytics

• • We use a small number of first-party cookies that make the service work: a session cookie, a sign-in cookie, an address-prefill cookie so you don't have to retype your info, and short-lived cookies used during the postcard claim and QR-scan flows.
• • We do not use advertising cookies, ad pixels, or cross-site trackers.
• • We measure how the product is used (page views and steps completed while composing a postcard) with cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics and our own first-party tools. This data is tied to a random identifier, not your name.

How we use it

• • To create, print, and deliver your postcard via our printing partner.
• • To process payments, including authorizations and refunds.
• • To create address-confirmation links you can share with your recipient when you don't have their mailing address.
• • To power our public flight map, which shows postcard journeys between cities — never names, addresses, or postcard content.
• • To improve our service and prevent abuse.
• • Photos are automatically screened using moderation tools (including third-party providers) to detect prohibited content and protect against abuse.

How long we keep it

• • We keep your postcard content (photos and messages) until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
• • Order metadata (payment, status, delivery) is kept as required by law and for customer support.

Sharing

• • We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
• • Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
• • With service providers who help us run Pi9eon: payment processing (Stripe), printing and mail delivery, text-message delivery, cloud hosting and storage, automated photo screening, and mailing-address verification. They receive only what they need to do their job for us.
• • With template partners. Some postcard templates are offered together with a partner (for example, a sports team or brand). When you send a postcard using a partner's template, that partner receives your name — not your phone number — unless you later opt in to share your number with that partner. If you opt in to be featured, they also receive your postcard photo for use in their marketing.
• • That's the whole list. We never give your data to data brokers, never use it for third-party advertising, and don't share it with anyone beyond the vendors and template partners described above.
• • We do not resell or provide access to third-party provider services; postcards are fulfilled only through Pi9eon.

Communications & opt-out

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS verification codes and updates about your postcards from pi9eon. Message frequency may vary. Standard Message and Data Rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. We will not share mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

• • Verification codes are one-time passcodes used to sign in, create an account, or confirm a phone number. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• • Postcard updates are optional service messages about cards you sent or received — for example if we are still waiting on an address. You can opt in or out in the product. You can use pi9eon without opting in to postcard updates.
• • We do not send marketing texts. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP or email support@pi9eon.com for help.

Your choices

• • You can delete your account anytime in account settings or by emailing support@pi9eon.com. This removes your profile, phone number, and address from our systems, along with the photos and messages of postcards you sent.
• • Reply STOP to any Pi9eon text to opt out of postcard updates. Reply HELP for help.
• • The location/time caption is optional and off by default.
• • Being featured by a template partner is always opt-in, and you can withdraw by contacting support.
• • For paid sends: if your recipient doesn't confirm their address, your payment authorization is released after 7 days.

Children

Pi9eon is not directed at children under 13, and you must be 13 or older to use it. Users under 18 should obtain parental consent before using Pi9eon.

International data transfers

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with laws governing data collection and use, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Pi9eon means acceptance of the updated policy.
